Deutsches Afrika Korps (DAK) 1st pattern pith helmet.

The crown and the brim are made of cork with khaki cloth covering. Nice red fabric lining and leather sweatband. Only a small part of the leather chinstrap remains. This helmet was manufactured by "Helmfabrik Keller & Co" of Oberleutensdorf.

Nice manufacturer's markings on the vent eyelet located at the bottom of the crown and under the leather sweatband.

Dimensions :

Headband circumference: 21 7/8in (Size 6 7/8 (US))
Eagle and national tri-color insignia: 1 5/8 in (H) x 1 3/8in (W).

Condition :

Good condition. This helmet was definitely worn and is missing a part of the chinstrap and most of the leather seam around the brim.

1ere modèle de casque colonial du Deutsches Afrika Korps (DAK).

La coiffe et la visière sont faites de liège recouvert de tissu beige. Bel intérieur en tissu rouge avec bande de sudation en cuir. Seul une partie de la jugulaire en cuir est manquante. Ce casque à été fabriqué par "Helmfabrik Keller & Co" d'Oberleutensdorf.

Beau marquage de fabricant sur l'œillet d'aération situé au fond de la coiffe et au dos de la bande de sudation.

Dimensions :

Circonférence de la bande de sudation: 55cm (Size 6 7/8 (US) - 56 (FR))
Insigne aigle et national tricolore: 4.1cm (H) x 3.5cm (L).

Condition :

Bonne condition générale. Ce casque à été porté. Une partie de la jugulaire est manquante, ainsi que la majeure partie du jonc de cuir entourant la visière.
