Scarce Pre-WWII US Marine Corps machete with original sheath.

Square tip machete model 1001 with wood handle and thick blade marked "USMC" on one side and "Collins & Co No 1001" on the other side.
Khaki canvas scabbard with stiff insert and leather reinforcements.
Dimensions :
Blade length: 11 1/2in - Full machete length: 16 3/4in
Condition :
The blade is rusty. The belt hook shows some moderate wear from being worn in the field. Most of the stitching on the leather reinforcement is gone.

Rare machette d'avant-guerre de l'US Marine Corps avec fourreau original.

Machette à bout carré du modèle 1001 avec plaquettes en bois, lame épaisse marquée "USMC" sur un coté, et "Collins & Co No. 1001" de l'autre coté.
Fourreau recouvert de coton tressé, avec insert dur, et renfort en cuir.
Dimensions :
Longueur de la lame: 29cm - Longueur totale de la machette: 42.5cm
Condition :
La lame est rouillée et les marquages sont difficile à lire. La crochet de ceinture montre une usure soutenue causée par le port de cette machette sur le terrain. La plupart des coutures des renforts en cuir sont manquantes.
