Scarce pre-WWII 3rd Infantry Regiment distinctive unit insignia.

Very early insignia with clip back designed to be worn on the 3rd IR uniforms with buff shoulder straps. This insignia was later converted to a screw back campaign hat insignia.

Rare insigne distinctif du 3eme régiment d'infanterie.

Modèle très précoce avec dos à clips prévus pour que cette insigne soit attaché sur les passants d'épaule en cuir des uniformes de ce régiment. Cet insigne a été modifiée ultérieurement par l'ajout d'une visse et a été utilisé comme insigne de chapeau de campagne.
