US Navy dark blue knitted wool watch cap with identification tag. This cap was issued to the Radio Man 3rd Class R.D. Arnold who served on the USS Sevier (APA-233) during WWII.
The cap has the typical WWII construction with crown type top and bi-directional weave at the bottom of finished edge.

We enclosed a copy of the U.S. WWII Navy Muster Roll, dated June 30th, 1945 showing Robert D. Arnold, S1/c on the USS Sevier (APA-233), with a first day on board reported on May 12th, 1944.

The USS Sevier supported the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa in 1945.
