Rare pair of Royal Air Force (RAF) flight / escape boots.

2nd pattern in rare brown leather color with fleece lining and side zipper manufactured by 'Lightning'.

No markings found, except for the size stamped on the inner pull tabs.

These boots were highly prized by US Army Air Forces pilots and crew member who often would trade or ''borrow'' them from RAF crew members.

Good condition with light field wear.
The upper back seam of the right boot is partially coming apart.

Rare paire de bottes d'évasion de la Royal Air Force (RAF).

Deuxième modèle de rare couleur brune avec doublure en laine de mouton et fermetures a coulisse latérale de fabrication 'Lightning'.

Aucun marquage visible, a l'exception du marquage de taille sur les languettes intérieures.

Ces bottes étaient très prisées par les pilotes et membres d'équipages de l'US Army Air Forces / Army Air Corps qui, très souvent, les échangeaient ou les ''empruntaient'' aux équipages de la RAF.
